Unwind
Plan tomorrow’s itinerary using our huge map wall while chilling out with a glass or two on the leather sofa. Light the wood burner. As many logs as you can burn plus kindling and firelighters are all included in your stay. Tits, siskins and woodpeckers dine on the feeder. Red squirrels feed on the nuts.
A Bluetooth speaker streams your favourite podcasts or music. For the old skool there is a Roberts radio.
Cook
The handmade cooks kitchen is fully equipped with Everhot range with two ovens, grill, hot plates and induction hob. Fridge freezer and full size dishwasher . Dualit toaster, milk frother and cafetières plus all the pans dishes and cooking equipment you will need.
Open the larder and you will find it fully stocked for your stay: breakfast cereals, pastas, rices, tinned goods, teas, coffees, herbs, spices, cooking oils and condiments all included for you. All your washing up essentials are here too - you definitely don’t need to pack the kitchen sink!
Dine
A six seater dining table with settings for you and perhaps a couple of unexpected friends. With vintage crockery as well as a choice of glassware dining becomes a delight. Light the candles, stream your music to the JBL speaker and enjoy the atmosphere surrounded by our Cumbrian artwork.
Relax
Light the wood burning stove and cosy up in the snug with one of our guide books or a Folio classic . If your walk is rained off. rekindle your love of board games from our comprehensive selection.
If all else fails, the 55 inch 4K OLED TV makes those wet days very easy to cope with!
Sleep
Each individually designed bedroom has a 5ft bed one of which can be split into two single beds. The beds are dressed with natural wool duvets, crisp hotel quality linen, split sided electric blankets and luxury wool throws. Hairdryers are in each bedroom too! With views across the fells, the mountain air will lull you into a great night’s sleep.
Scrub
The larger of two bathrooms. Handmade marble tiles, a walk in monsoon shower, soft towels, underfloor heating , lashings of hot water and complimentary aromatic ‘Pure Lakes’ toiletries.
Slumber
If Sleep gets the master bathroom, then Slumber has the biggest bedroom. The 5ft bed can be split into two single beds. Egyptian cotton bedlinen, dual control electric blankets and you have permission to sleep in late. Both bedrooms have large wardrobes and more of our Cumbrian art , plus its a great spot to watch the red squirrels in the tree .
Shower
Floor to ceiling metro tiles, underfloor heating, luxury warm towels and a walk in shower. Just add those delicious smelling “Pure Lakes“ toiletries.
Gear, laundry & little ones
If you’re planning to come loaded with an assortment of hiking boots, jackets, rucksacks then our boot room will take it all. Our laundry room has a washing machine, tumble dryer and overhead airer.
For little ones we have a high chair, stairgate and travel cot.
Parking and EV Charging
There is dedicated parking for three cars outside the cottage. A 14kw charger provides electricity for your EV or PHEV. Overnight charging is included in your rental charge.
Broadband & Wifi
More of our guests are taking extended holidays that include time working from home. Sometimes it’s a choice and ocassionally it’s an unwelcome necessity. Our broadband has a download speed to 25mps and upload of 3.5mps. Fast enough to give a steady signal for your Zoom meeting or stream your favourite film.
Outside
Sitting in its own grounds the garden is planted with a selection of rhododendrons and azaleas providing colour most months of the year. There is a lawned area in the front garden and a South West facing terrace to catch the sun with dining table and chairs. A second patio in the back garden catches the sun long into the evening. We have a BBQ and charcoal to get you started and a lockable store to hold your bikes.
